Shintaro Fujinami
ABOUT SHINTARO FUJINAMI
International starring pitcher that played baseball professionally in countries such as Japan and the United States. He initially began his professional playing career with the Hanshin Tigers. After nine years with Hanshin, he joined the Oakland Athletics .
Prior to his professional career, he pitched at the Osaka Toin High School. As a senior, he won the 2012 Japanese High School Baseball Championship.
He collected a career-high 221 strikeouts, which led all pitchers, during the 2015 Nippon Professional Baseball league season. He also recorded new career highs in wins, ERA, complete games and shutouts in a single season.
He was born and raised in Sakai, Japan.
He played along with Tony Kemp as a member of the Athletics during the 2023 MLB regular season.
