Professional pitcher that was drafted by the Cleveland Indians during the 18th round of the 2011 MLB Draft. He was acquired by the Tampa Bay Rays on July 30, 2021.

He graduated from West Craven High School prior to enrolling at East Carolina University .

He made his major league debut pitching against the Minnesota Twins on August 8, 2015 as a member of the Indians.

He was born in New Bern, North Carolina. He grew up living with his parents, Michael and Teresa Armstrong, and his two siblings.

He has played alongside Andrew Miller as a member of the Indians.
