ABOUT SHANNON WRIGHT

Cartoonist, artist, writer, and illustrator who is also the author of the graphic novel Twins. She illustrated Edwidge Danticat's My Mommy Medicine. Her art has appeared in several well-known and popular publications including Time, The Guardian, The New York Times, and Eater.

She earned a degree in communication arts from Virginia Commonwealth University .

Her art is influenced by cartoons and anime. She didn't attend art school and was denied from Governor's School for the Arts. Many of her cartoons and animated work featured African-American characters and drawings.

She has brothers named Kevin II and Travis.

In the year 2017, she published a cartoon titled "Eight Ways To Resist Donald Trump ."
