ABOUT SETH ROMERO

Southpaw starting pitcher that was drafted by the Washington Nationals during the first round of the 2017 Major League Draft. Prior to being drafted, he played college baseball at the University of Houston for three seasons. While at Houston, he was twice named to the Second Team All-American Conference.

He first began his professional career playing for the GCL Nationals rookie affiliate team. He was once named the fifth best prospect in the Nationals organization.

He made his official major league debut pitching against the New York Mets on August 13, 2020. He struck out the very first batter he faced. He and Trevor Rogers were both drafted in the first round of the 2017 MLB draft.

He grew up living with his family in West Columbia, Texas. He is one of three siblings.

He recorded his first career major league strikeout facing Billy Hamilton .
