He grew up in Washington and always sketched and designed as a child.

In 2011, he showed a collection of clothes made with sustainable fabrics at Portland Fashion Week.

He married wife Tina and had two children, Aaron and Megan.

He appeared on Project Runway with host Tim Gunn .
