Canadian rapper, visual artist, and record producer. He has released projects such as the 2017 album I Think You've Gone Mad (Or the Sins of the Father), God's Algorithm, and Herd Immunity. He is also the founder of the IXXI Initiative. His single "Burn Everything" featuring Kanye West was an instant hit.

He gained popularity in underground rap and hip-hop music with his debut mixtape Ninelevenne, the Tragedy which was released in 2013. This album was followed up in 2014 by Narcissus, the Drowning of Ego.

He often goes by the nickname Maui Slim, coined by his friend Lim after he wore a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. He stated that "God's Algorithm doesn't exist without COVID" as he was inspired to work on the project by the pandemic. College Dropout by Kanye West is the first album he ever bought.

He was born Matthew Sean Leon. He grew up in a house with four sisters and was the middle child. He married writer Tania Peralta. They have a daughter together named Xylo Hailey-Nirvana.

He is featured on the song "Sci Fi" from Kanye West 's album Donda 2, released in 2022. In 2016, he released "Matthew in the Middle" featuring fellow Canadian rapper Caesar.
