ABOUT SAM JAY
Comedian, entertainer, artist, and performer who was the first black lesbian writer for Saturday Night Live . She co-created and co-starred in the 2021 HBO comedy series Pause with Sam Jay. She co-created and co-starred in the 2022 Peacock comedy series Bust Down.
She dropped out of community college. She worked at Starbucks, BestBuy, and the IRS mail room.
She released a 2020 Netflix special titled 3 In The Morning. She has appeared on Netflix's The Comedy Lineup, The Roast of Tom Brady, Take My Wife , and Jimmy Kimmel Live! She has amassed more than 150,000 followers on her samjaycomic Instagram account.
Her mother died when she was 16 years old.
She wrote the 2019 SNL sketch "Cha Cha Slide" which starred John Mulaney and Ego Nwodim .
