ABOUT SAKSHI MALIK
Freestyle wrestler who won the gold medal at the 2017 Commonwealth Championships representing India. She made her Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio Games, where she earned a bronze medal.
She began training in wrestling at the age of 12. She made her breakthrough as a gold medal winner at the 2012 Asian Junior Championships.
She won a silver medal at the 2017 Asian Wrestling Championships. She later won a bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
She married her husband Satyawart in 2017.
She and Helen Maroulis were both medalists at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
