Became known as the drummer for the metalcore band The Amity Affliction . Their albums Youngbloods and Chasing Ghosts debuted at #1 on the ARIA charts.

He was first featured as part of The Amity Affliction on the band's album Severed Ties.

He was replaced as the drummer of The Amity Affliction during Warped Tour in 2013 due to severely damaging his cornea during a set in Portland, Oregon.

His brother Chris Burt was formerly a member of The Amity Affliction. He has dated Amy Jayne.

He has performed alongside Ahren Stringer in The Amity Affliction.
