ABOUT ROMUALDAS GRANAUSKAS
Lithuanian writer of Vortex, a novel set in the Soviet period of Lithuanian history. His short story collections include Bread Eaters, published in 1975, and The Tops of the Trees, published in 1969.
He finished school and worked for a Lithuanian newspaper called Musu Zodis.
He held odd jobs as a construction worker, metalworker, and radio reporter.
He was raised in Mazeikiai, Lithuania. He was married to Alma SkruibytÄ—; he had children named Gintare and Inga.
He and Icchokas Meras were both famous Lithuanian writers.
