ABOUT RODNEY H. BANKS

Chemist whose invention TRASAR won a United States Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award and helped improve the control of industrial water treatment.

In 1975, he received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Johns Hopkins University.

He was awarded a Perkin Medal by the American section of the Society of Chemical Industry for his work in water treatment.

His father was Mark Banks, a chemist who worked for the U.S. Defense Department.

While pursuing his Ph.D., he worked for chemist Glenn T. Seaborg .
