ABOUT RICK DERRINGER
Guitarist with the 1960s rock 'n' roll group The McCoys, the group that released songs like "Hang On Sloopy." He later found success in his solo career, with other singles such asĀ "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo."
With Derringer, The McCoys scored the smash hit "Hang On Sloopy."
He changed his name to Derringer in a fit of inspiration from his label's logo. He produced a handful of songs for the 1984 movie Bachelor Party.
He grew up near Fort Recovery, Ohio.
He played the guitar solo on Alice Cooper 's "Under My Wheels."
