Richardt Strauss
ABOUT RICHARDT STRAUSS
South African-born Irish rugby union hooker who joined Leinster Rugby in 2009 and the Irish national team in 2012.
He won the Under 19 Rugby World Championship with South Africa in 2005.
He played for Ireland and faced off in the front row against his cousin Adriaan Strauss, who represented South Africa.
His father moved his family from Pretoria to Harrismith when Richardt was only six weeks old.
He joined captain Paul O'Connell on the Irish national team in 2012.
