ABOUT RICHARD NELSON
Author of the Tony Award-winning musical adaptations of James Joyce's The Dead and the Broadway version of Chess.
He grew up watching musical theater in Detroit and claims to have seen roughly twenty five musicals before seeing his first "straight" play.
He was the chair of the playwriting department at the Yale School of Drama from 2005 to 2008.
He has daughters named Zoe and Jocelyn.
His 2007 play Frank's Home chronicled two days in the life of architect Frank Lloyd Wright .
