Salsa and world music performer whose debut studio album earned him several Billboard and Premios Lo Nuestro awards. The album went on to achieve platinum certified sales figures and led to him landing more lucrative commercial recording opportunities.
He was a member of a music group known as Cabaret Tropicana.
He founded the Luna Negra record label through which he released his music.
He is the son of Pedro Ruiz. He married Sonia Machado.
He had the opportunity to perform alongside trumpeter Arturo Sandoval at the Adrian Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami.
