ABOUT RENE MOORE
Famous as one half (with Angela Winbush) of the popular René & Angela soul and funk singing, songwriting, and producing duo, he recorded hits such as "Save Your Love (For #1)," "You Don't Have to Cry," and "Your Smile." He and Winbush are also well known for their songwriting and production work for Janet Jackson .
Recording on the Capitol Records label, he and Winbush released their first album in 1980 and followed it up with Wall to Wall (1982); Rise (1983); and A Street Called Desire (1985).
Acclaimed rappers Jay-Z and The Notorious B.I.G. sampled music by René & Angela.
He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.
In the mid-1980s, Moore and Winbush penned R&B singer Stephanie Mills ' first chart-topping single, "I Have Learned to Respect the Power of Love."
