ABOUT RALPH HOUK
Decorated Army officer during WWII who later joined the Yankees to win six World Series titles.
He spent four years in the Army, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and earning the Bronze Star, Silver Star and Purple Heart.
He played baseball in the army leagues along with the younger brother of the great Stan Musial .
He had a son with his wife Bette, and later had four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was a player-coach for the Yankees during the Mickey Mantle era.
