ABOUT RAFAEL ALBUQUERQUE

Comic book illustrator, colorist and writer who has earned widespread acclaim for his work with DC Comics, having contributed to such comics as Blue Beetle, Green Lantern and Legends of the Dark Knight. He is also known for his work on the American Vampire series, co-written by Stephen King .

He worked in advertising before beginning his career in comics in 2002. He got his start working for the Egypt-based company AK Comics.

His comic American Vampire earned IGN, Eisner and Harvey Awards for Best New Series.

He married colorist Cris Peter.

He has cited Brian Azzarello as his favorite comic book artist.
