ABOUT PHILIPPE PERRIN
Former European Space Agency astronaut who served as mission specialist on Space Shuttle mission STS-111.
He served in the French Air Force and was a recipient of the French Air Force Award for Flight Safety.
He went on to work as a test pilot for Airbus.
He married and had two children.
He and American astronaut Michael Collins are pilots.
