ABOUT PETER VAN INWAGEN

American philosopher most recognized for his theories on metaphysics, religion, and the philosophy of action.

He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester. His monograph An Essay on Free Will from 1983 was influential in its treatment of libertarianism.

He was president of the Society of Christian Philosophers for a number of years.
