ABOUT PETER BROOK
Known for writing plays like The Mahabharata and Tierno Bokar, he co-founded the International Centre for Theatre Research. He also directed multiple films. He passed away in Paris at the age of 97.
He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford and produced his first play, Dr. Faustus, in 1943.
He won Tony Awards for Best Direction of a Play for 1966's Marat/Sade and 1971's A Midsummer Night's Dream. He directed the 1963 version of the film Lord of the Flies.
He married actress Natasha Parry in 1951.
He directed acclaimed adaptations of the plays of William Shakespeare , such as Hamlet, The Tempest, and King Lear.
