Second wife of the infamous traitor General Benedict Arnold who was notable for conspiring with her husband to change sides.

She was the "family's darling" growing up in a prominent Philadelphia family which included two mayors and Shippensburg, Pennsylvania's founder.

She was awarded by Queen Charlotte of England an annuity of 100 pound sterling a year for her children's well-being.

She wound up being the youngest of her siblings after two more siblings never lived past infancy.

Before a meeting with George Washington , Benedict fled with her to the HMS Vulture on the Hudson River.
