Paul Smith
ABOUT PAUL SMITH
British musician best known as the singer of alternative rock band Maxïmo Park. He joined the band in 2003 and they released their debut album, A Certain Trigger, in 2005. He has released a number of well-received solo albums as well, such as 2015's Contradictions and 2018's Diagrams.
He studied art history and English linguistics at Newcastle University. He then briefly held a job as an art teacher before joining Maxïmo Park.
Smith and his Maxïmo Park bandmates have seen success with their songs "Books From Boxes" and "Apply Some Pressure," which have racked up tens of millions of streams on Spotify. He is an avid soccer fan and dedicated follower of Middlesbrough FC.
He has a daughter.
He and his bandmates in Maxïmo Park collaborated with Pauline Murray on the song "Ardour" from their 2021 album Nature Always Wins.
