ABOUT PAUL RHOADS

Replaced Gene Chizik as head coach of Iowa State's football team in 2009.

He was the defensive coordinator for Pitt, helping to establish the best team defense since 1980, and had a somewhat successful stint with the Auburn Tigers.

Battling the perception that Iowa State is always just a stepping stone to the national championship, he signed a 10 year contract to coach the team through 2021.
