Weather presenter who is famous for his witty banter on English news shows like BBC Yorkshire and BBC Look North. He is the author of several weather-related books, including Storm Force: Britain's Wildest Weather (2007).

He was raised in Keighley, West Yorkshire, England. He earned a degree in geophysics and planetary physics from the University of Newcastle.

He provided the English-language voices of Ferdinand and The Great Inventor on the series The Little Prince.

He married a woman named Nicola in 2003.

He appeared alongside Peter Levy on BBC Look North.
