Reality star who appeared on the TLC show Counting On . He is the patriarch of the Caldwell family. In 2017, his daughter Kendra Caldwell married Joseph Duggar . In June 2015, his church passed out anti-LGBT pamphlets and he made a statement saying they were only trying to spread love.

He pastored at Heritage Baptist Church in Woodbridge, Virginia. In 2008, he was sent by Baptist International Missions, Inc. in partnership with Heritage Baptist Church to serve as the Pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

In episodes of Counting On, he worked as a mechanic in Arkansas. In 2014, he was a candidate in the Republican primary for Arkansas State Representative from District 60. He lost to Jana Della Rosa by 378 votes.

In 1998, he married Christina Marie Hamrick. They have nine children named Kendra, Lauren, Micah, Nathan, Timothy, Gracie, Jesiah, Isaiah, and Moriah. He is also a grandfather.  His parents are Marion and Peggy Caldwell.

In 2017, he was the officiant at Joy-Anna Duggar 's wedding to Austin Forsyth .
