ABOUT PAU DONéS
Singer, guitarist, and composer who is best known for being the frontman for the Spanish rock group Jarabe de Palo. The band debuted in 1996 and they went on to release more than a dozen popular albums. Among the group's greatest hits are "La Flaca," "Agua," "Bonito," and "Depende."
He got his first guitar at the age of 12. At the age of at 15, he formed his first band, J. & Co. Band, with his brother Marc. They later renamed the band Dentaduras Postizas. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Barcelona. He worked at an advertising agency after graduating.
In May 2001, he performed the song "Guantanamera" with Celia Cruz and Luciano Pavarotti as part of the international event Pavarotti & Friends. In 2008, he founded Tronco Records, la República Independiente de Jarabe de Palo.
His mother passed away when he was 16 years old and he went on to raise his three younger brothers. He had a daughter named Sara with Núria Cirera. He was in a relationship with model Eugenia Silva.
He composed the songs "Dos días en la Vida" for Celia Cruz, "Cambia la Piel" for Ricky Martin and "Everything" for Alanis Morissette.
