ABOUT PAT HUTCHINS
Illustrator and writer who, in 1974, won the Kate Greenaway Medal from the Library Association for the picture book The Wind Blew.
She attended Darlington School of Art on a scholarship in 1958.
Her works include 1981's The Mona Lisa Mystery and 1989's Rats!
She married illustrator Laurence Hutchins and they had two children together.
Another well-known English illustrator is Shirley Hughes .
