ABOUT OLIVER EDWARD NELSON

African American saxophonist and musical composer known primarily for his 1961 Bebop Jazz album The Blues and the Abstract Truth. He is also known for his works as the composer of film and television shows such as Columbo , Ironside, The Six Million Dollar Man, Longstreet, Death of a Gunfighter, Skullduggery and The Alpha Caper.

Prior to his professional music career, he served in the United States Marines.

He has produced albums for legendary musicians like James Brown , Diana Ross and The Temptations .

He is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. He first learned how to play music from his brother and sister.

During his professional music career, he was given the honor of performing alongside Count Basie , Duke Ellington and even Quincy Jones .
