ABOUT OCTAVIO DOTEL

Journeyman MLB pitcher who set a league record by playing for 13 different teams. He was one of the 231 victims who lost their lives in the 2025 Jet Set nightclub roof collapse in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

He made his MLB debut on June 26, 1999, for the New York Mets.

Along the way to his record, he had several notable achievements: he pitched a combined no-hitter in 2003 and won the World Series with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2011.

His father was murdered when Octavio was 17, shortly after he signed his first major league contract.

He and Jose Reyes were both part of the Dominican Republic's World Baseball Classic champion team in 2013.
