Arranger, educator, and beloved pianist who collaborated with such luminaries as Helen Humes , Sarah Vaughan , and Anita O'Day.
He arranged Ramsey Lewis' "Wade in the Water" in 1966. It became a huge commercial hit for the two.
He became a member of the Ellington Legacy Band in 2002.
His family was living in Chicago when he was born.
He also worked with the legendary Joe Williams .
