ABOUT NIGEL WESTLAKE
Award-winning composer whose career spanned three decades. He was most recognized for writing the film score for Imagine, the first Imax feature.
He briefly attended the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, but later left to pursue other opportunities.
He won the APRA-AMC Classical Music Award for Best Performance of an Australian Composition for Rare Sugar in 2008.
His father Donald Westlake once performed as a lead clarinet player with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
He and pianist Geoffrey Lancaster both studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
