Ranked #6 of 500 singles wrestlers by Pro Wrestling Illustrated in 2009, he held the record for longest reigning Ring of Honor Pure Champion as well as Ring of Honor World Champion. He has also been a commentator for ROH, NXT, and AEW.

He started to train in 1998 with Les Thatcher before making his debut in September of 1999.

Some of his signature moves included arm drags, headbutts, and shootkicks.

He was born in London and lived in Louisville, Kentucky.

One of his managers through his career was Ric Flair .
