Scrum-half for Australia from 1984 to 1993, capped 63 times and became an International Rugby Hall of Famer.
He worked as a lawyer while playing amateur rugby.
He became a TV rugby commentator on UK Sky Sports after his retirement from rugby.
He married Angie Farr-Jones in 1991.
He and David Campese were part of the Australian squad that won the 1991 Rugby World Cup.
