Shoe designer known for his sculpted and architectural shoe styles. His nicholaskirkwood Instagram page has 390,000 followers who can see only one post, which is a letter about ending his shoe line in 2023 after 15 years of being in business.

He formed his namesake shoe brand in 2004 with his business partner Christopher Suarez. In 2013, LVMH acquired a majority stake in his company for an undisclosed sum.

He is passionate about doing things in an environmentally friendly way and coming up with sustainable ideas in fashion. That was one of the reasons he sited for ending his shoe brand.

He is from Germany, but lives in London, England.

He has twice been named Accessories Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards. Some other famous designers who have won one of these awards include Jonathan Anderson and Simone Rocha .
