Neil Sheehan

ABOUT NEIL SHEEHAN

Author and Former reporter for the New York Times known for leaking and writing about the Pentagon Papers in 1971. He went on to win a Pulitzer in 1989.

He served in the US Army after he obtained his Bachelor's from Harvard University in 1958.

He received a Pulitzer Prize and a National Book Award for his 1989 book A Bright Shining Lie, which is about the Vietnam War.

His wife Susan Sheehan was also a fellow Pulitzer Prize winner.

He obtained the classified Pentagon Papers from Daniel Ellsberg .
