Nayyar Ali Dada
ABOUT NAYYAR ALI DADA
Best known for his design of the Al-Hamra Arts Complex and the Al-Hamra Open Air Theatre (both in Lahore, Pakistan), he earned both the President's Pride of Performance and the Aga Khan Award for his contributions to Pakistani architecture.
After studying briefly at Punjab University, he attended the National College of Arts in Lahore, Pakistan.
He designed the Lahore campus of Beaconhouse National University, as well as the Serena Hotel in Islamabad.
Born in Delhi, India, to a Muslim family, he moved to Lahore, Pakistan in his late childhood years.
His contemporary, fellow Indian-born architect Sheila Prakash , designed low-cost urban housing units.
