Nader Khalili
ABOUT NADER KHALILI
Pioneered the Earthbag Construction technique called Superadobe and his innovations with the Ceramic Houses system. His Superadobe system was a response to a 1984 NASA challenge for designs that could be used to eventually inhabit Mars and the Moon.
He studied architecture in Iran, Turkey, and the U.S., before obtaining his license in California in 1970. He was eventually named a United Nations consultant on Earth Architecture.
He founded the California Institute of Earth-Art and Architecture in 1991.
His family was residing in Tehran when he was born, and he never forgot his roots in his architectural designs. He married three times.
He was born in the same country as film director Barbet Schroeder .
