Munthadar Al-zaidi
ABOUT MUNTHADAR AL-ZAIDI
Iraqi journalist who worked as a correspondent for Al-Baghdadia TV and was known for being critical of United States foreign policy.
He began working for Al-Baghdadia TV in 2005 and did a particularly moving report on a young girl killed on her way to school by the occupying forces in Iraq.
He was kidnapped in 2007 by unknown parties, and was held captive and blindfolded for three days before being released.
He was born and raised in Sadr City, part of Baghdad in Iraq. He practiced Shia Islam.
He famously threw his shoes at U.S. President George W. Bush during a press conference in 2008.
