Mike Winters

ABOUT MIKE WINTERS

Born Michael Weinstein and better known by his stage name of Mike Winters, this British comedian became famous for his straight man role in the Mike & Bernie Winters comedy duo.

After studying clarinet at the Royal Academy of Music, he briefly served in the Merchant Navy during World War II and then became a captain and musician in the Canadian Legion.

In his later years, he established a theater company and a British-style pantomime act in Florida.

He and his brother and fellow comedian Bernie Winters (Bernie Weinstein) grew up in North London, England. Mike Winters and his wife later settled in Miami, Florida, U.S.A.

A boxing enthusiast, he wrote and published two nonfiction works about the life of legendary boxing trainer Angelo Dundee .
