He was a world renowned journalist who had deep bouts of depression.
He had sons, Chris and Peter with his first wife, Norma Kaphan, whom he divorced in 1948. He was also married to Buff Cobb, Lorraine Perigord and Mary Yates.
His son Chris Wallace went on to become a famous journalist, most notable as the host of FOX's News Sunday.
