ABOUT MIKE PEREZ
Professional boxer who made his HBO debut at Madison Square Garden. A heavyweight competitor, he has beaten out numerous renowned boxers like Travis Walker . During his amateur career, he also gained recognition for taking gold at the 2004 World Junior Championships.
He began his career as an amateur boxer in Cuba until he was approached to compete professionally at a competition in Liverpool in 2005.
He was nicknamed Mike "The Rebel" Perez in honor of his home Cork, often referred to as The Rebel County.
He has citizenship in Ireland and has lived there with his three daughters.
In May 2015, he was knocked out by competitor Alexander Povetkin within 91 seconds.
