ABOUT MIKE LEACH
He coached the Washington State University football team which he joined after nine years at Texas Tech. He then went on to coach Mississippi State University from 2020 until 2022. His football fame has gained him more than 410,000 followers on his coach_leach Twitter account.
Known for his fiery temper during his days at Texas Tech, he spent one memorable game against rival Texas railing against the officials, for which he was fined a record $10,000.
He was fired from Texas Tech amidst much acrimony and a wrongful termination lawsuit, and then signed on with Washington State to coach in 2012.
He was born in Susanville, California, part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Friday Night Lights creator Peter Berg featured him in a cameo in one episode and hinted he would write a movie inspired by Leach's firing from Texas Tech.
