ABOUT MICHAELA SKOVRANOVA

Australian based filmmaker and photographer who is recognized for being an Olympus Visionary. She is known for her darker underwater photography and for sharing her images through Instagram for her over 180,000 followers.

She first began sharing her photography through Instagram in May of 2012.

She was named on Photoboite's list of 30 Under 30 Women Photographers.

She was born in Slovakia but later moved to Australia when she was thirteen where she was raised.

She was asked by National Geographic along with Tasneem Alsultan and Rena Effendi to discuss the importance of diversity in storytelling.
