Professional catcher that was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks during the fifth round of the 2011 MLB Draft. He was acquired by the Pittsburgh Pirates via waivers in October 2020.

He began his professional career playing for the Diamondbacks' rookie affiliate team the AZL Diamondbacks.

He made his major league debut playing against the Baltimore Orioles on July 26, 2018 as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays .

He is a native of Bayamon, Puerto Rico. He lives with his wife, Maria, and their three children.

He recorded his first career major league hit facing Alex Cobb .
