Most famous for co-anchoring Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update" comedy sketch with Colin Jost , Che also appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart .

After graduating from New York's Fiorello H. LaGuardia Performing Arts High School, he won his home city's Funniest Stand-Up Competition and was praised by both Variety and Rolling Stone magazines.

He appeared in a 2012 episode of John Oliver 's New York Stand-Up Show.

Born Michael Che Campbell, he grew up in New York City as the seventh and youngest child of Nathaniel and Rose Campbell.

In late 2014, he began co-hosting Weekend Update as a replacement for previous host Cecily Strong .
