Jazz drummer who worked for Motown Records and has been on more than 250 albums. He has been called one of the best jazz drummers in the world.
He won a drumming championship at the age of twelve.
In 1973, he joined Freddie Hubbard's band.
His father was one of the top drummers in Houston.
He recorded with Pat Martino on his 1976 album Starbright.
