ABOUT MEREDITH MONK

Legendary composer who is known for combining multiple disciplines of art, such as dance and theater, with her music.

She started off her performance career in Greenwich Village in the 60's and performed Off-Broadway.

Her music was used in the score of the Coen Brothers' classic The Big Lebowski.

The Dutch-born choreographer Mieke van Hoek was her partner for many years.

Bjork honored her and her career at a concert in Carnegie Hall.
