One of the most downloaded and listened-to artists in Brazil, the rapper behind hits like Rei Lacoste and Tiffany, developed his style in the rap battles of Rio de Janeiro. His "music for favela kids" has amassed an immense fan base, from 1.4 million subscribers on YouTube and 230,000 on Twitter to the 2.9 million followers on Instagram.
As a "trajadão" trap rapper, his embrace of fashion and luxury has led to branding deals with Lacoste and Casas Bahia.
Before he became MD Chef, he was Leonardo dos Santos Barreto. In June of this year he won BET's international breakthrough artist award--the first such award for a Brazilian.
