ABOUT MAUREEN O'BOYLE

Known for her television hosting work on NBC, Fox, and Charlotte, North Carolina's WBTV News 3 channel, O'Boyle anchored a news segment titled "Stretching Your Dollar" and also contributed to the popular programs Extra and A Current Affair.

While briefly studying journalism at East Carolina University , she helmed a campus radio station. Eventually, she left school to work for North Carolina, Georgia, and Washington news channels.

In 1996, she hosted a talk show called In Person. Around this same time, she made cameo appearances in two films: Undisputed and So I Married an Axe Murderer.

She grew up with eight siblings and, as a result of her father's work with the Xerox company, spent her childhood between North Carolina, New York, and the United Kingdom. Her first child, a daughter named Keegan, was born in 1999.

In her early twenties, she was hired to replace Maury Povich as the host of the national television program A Current Affair. The show's ratings went up significantly after she took over.
